Economic Issues

Over the past few years American economic activity has been destroyed by overreaching regulation and currency facing constant devaluation.  The millions of Americans who have lost their jobs and struggle to buy groceries can attest to just how bad things have become.

For President Obama, the answers are obvious: more of the same!  What's worse, is that most of the Republican challengers agree!  They all seek policies of increasing regulation and destroying the little value left in the dollar.

Ron Paul is not like the others.  His policies will create jobs, strengthen our currency, and ensure prosperity for all Americans.

Taxes

"High taxes stifle innovation, prevent saving, destroy production, crush the middle class and the poor, and discourage investment. Every American is entitled to the fruits of his labor, especially during these tough economic times." - Ron Paul

Simply put, Ron Paul will lower taxes.  When elected Ron Paul will eliminate the personal income tax by directing the IRS to not prosecute individuals who avoid filing a return.  Today, the personal income tax only provides less than half of revenue.  Without the personal income tax,  Federal revenue will be roughly the same as when President Clinton was in office.

For most people, government was large enough back then!  We should be entitled to more of the fruits of our labor!

Ending the Fed

The Fed essentially creates money out of thin air, manipulates interest rates, and interferes with the free market. By doing so, the Fed fuels our economy’s boom-bust cycle and has helped devalue our dollar by over 95%. - Ron Paul

Ron Paul has been a vocal force for ending the Federal Reserve for decades.  In a sense, the Federal Reserve prints money, which it then gives to various banks.  This does two things:

First, it destroys the value of the dollar!  According to the Federal Reserve's own estimates, it takes $22.55 to buy what $1 bought in 1913.  Second, it creates mal-investment.  This mal-investment creates bubbles and economic uncertainty.

Ending the Federal Reserve should be a major campaign issue for any candidate, but only Ron Paul has been a leader in reducing the power of the Federal Reserve system.

Right to Work

Ron Paul’s exceptional record on Right to Work issues earned him the prestigious Everett Dirksen Award from the National Right to Work Committee.

Ron Paul will work to pass a national Right to Work law which will allow for the millions of Americans who are forced to pay union dues to opt out and keep much more of their pay to themselves, rather than pay a union boss they don't support.
